Hello guys,
Once again I need your precious help.
A few days ago I went on a trip with my W201 1.8E. My car is factory equipped with A/C. The day was very hot so for the whole trip (~170km) the A/C was on. For the last ~20km I was stuck in a traffic jam and the car was moving very slowly, so I was closely monitoring the coolant temperature gauge. To my surprise, the gauge (which is always stuck at ~85C) moved up to the circled white mark of the attached photo (but not further), so I turned the A/C off and stop in a curb to investigate the issue. I discovered that the auxiliary electric fan was not working, regardless on how high the temp was or if the A/C was on full blast and that the main fan, the one with the clutch, was working properly.
So, here are some questions to the experts:

So, here are some questions to the experts:
- Is the auxiliary electric fan supposed to be ON in such conditions or I'm missing something?
- If the answer on my 1st question is "yes", what should I check first?
