No luck so far in getting a handbuch. Here is my 3rd W201: Rear_Left.JPG After_2.JPG The car was purchased new in Hanover by an American woman in 1985, then shipped to the USA after her holiday in Europe. The woman's sister brought the car to Maui, Hawaii in 1990, but the car was not driven the past 3 years and sat in a garage. I purchased it and moved it to Honolulu. There is much work to be done on this.

What a surprise to see this again. The owner of the Lorinser sold the car last year to Mercedes workshop that I take my car to. The new owner tells me that the only tuning is the bodykit and wheels, the rest of the car is original.

I have sent an inquiry to the Mercedes Classic Center and still awaiting a reply. The handbook is for a 2.3-16 that was purchased in Hannover in 1985, then shipped to the US by the owner and was adapted for the US, but the car has the non-US klima and other pieces, so I am seeking the European version of the manual.

My German is not very good, so I hesitated posting in the For Sale area. I am seeking the Mercedes Owner's Handbook for the early (1984/5) 2.3-16 in English. This was before it was brought to the United States, so Mercedes Benz USA is unlikely to be of much help. Thanks.

All the US W201's came with klima, electric sunroofs, power window lifts, cassette stereo and the vast majority were sold with automatic transmissions. The US did not have the choice of the fabric seating or the hand operated sliding roof. I'm on the "other side of the world" from most of the members here . . . Honolulu, Hawaii. It's hard to be in the holiday mood because it is so warm, but we do recieve snow on top of the volcano every year.

It has been awhile since I've been on the forum, so I would like to wish all the members here a happy holiday season and best wishes for the coming new year. 2007 would mark the 25th anniversary of the W201, so it should be an exciting year for us.

Does anyone know the part number & availability of the roof mounted radio antenna on the Evo II?

At the shop where I found the '84 AMG, last week I came across this in their shop. From what I could see, it was a European 2.3L from the bumpers, the exhuast system and the klima. Thank you for the insight. I had forgotten my Moneybroker's account It had little use while Citibank offered their C2it service, but has since discontinued it. The credit card reluctance is an interesting cultural difference. In the US, we are getting used to not having currency in our wallets and use credit cards, check debit cards and other plastic instead of carrying cash. Perhaps it's because our bank notes are so boring.
